Spring Awakening & Story Updates

There’s something about the shift into spring that always makes me feel like I’m waking up, too. The days are getting longer, the air is a little softer, and I’ve found myself settling back into the rhythm of writing with more energy than I’ve had in months.

Lately, I’ve been deep in the world of Echoes of Us, my queer post-apocalyptic horror story. Rewrites and edits can be both daunting and exciting—like peeling back layers to find the truest version of the story underneath. This project continues to challenge me in all the right ways, and I’m feeling more connected than ever to the characters and the eerie, tender world they live in.

Alongside that, I’ve also been working on several short stories—bite-sized glimpses into fantastical, queer, and sometimes unsettling corners of my imagination. Some of those stories have found a home over on my Substack and Patreon, where I’ve been sharing them with readers as a bit of a preview of what’s to come. If you're into queer fiction that flirts with the edges of horror, intimacy, and magic, I’d love for you to check them out.

This season feels like a gentle push forward. The sunshine helps. So does the birdsong and the way everything feels just a little bit more possible right now.

Thanks for sticking with me on this creative journey. More to come soon.

With warmth and love,
Arden
